For those of you who haven't visited Tauranga,
the remarkable thing about the Tauranga Airport
is how close it is to the city -
by car, you are within 3 minutes of downtown Tauranga,
3 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Mt Maunganui
and less than 5 minutes from Bayfair Shopping Centre.
The airport facilities were completely modernised in 2006
by the Tauranga City Council who run the airport.
You can generally get your luggage
within 5 minutes of your plane's arrival.
This is NOT the official Tauranga Airport

The Tauranga Council does not have a official website
for their Airport.
Why? Who knows.
Probably too busy changing the latest version of the
Tauranga City 20 year plan.
Council staff are great though.
Very helpful. Very efficient too.
Cash registers everywhere.
On a happier note - This Website/Domain is for
sale.
The only real problem with the Tauranga airport is that
you can only fly direct to Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch
via Air New Zealand.
There's generally about 10 flight's daily
and the air prices are expensive unless you pre-book early.
Your best bet is via
grabaseat.
